In Thee, O jehovah, have I taken refuge; I will never be ashamed.

*My Mouth Shall Be Filled With Thy Praise*

Deliver me in Thy righteousness, and rescue me; incline Thine ear unto me, and save me.

*My Mouth Shall Be Filled With Thy Praise*

Be Thou to me a sheltering rock, whereunto I may continually resort, which Thou hast appointed to save me; {N}

for Thou art my rock and my fortress.

O my God, rescue me out of the hand of the wicked, out of the grasp of the unrighteous and ruthless man.

*My Mouth Shall Be Filled With Thy Praise*

For Thou art my hope; my Lord jehovah, my trust from my youth.

*My Mouth Shall Be Filled With Thy Praise*

Upon Thee have I stayed myself from birth; Thou art He that took me out of my mother’s womb; my praise is continually of Thee.

*My Mouth Shall Be Filled With Thy Praise*

I am as a wonder unto many; but Thou art my strong refuge.

*My Mouth Shall Be Filled With Thy Praise*

My mouth shall be filled with Thy praise, and with Thy glory all the day.

*My Mouth Shall Be Filled With Thy Praise*

*My Mouth Shall Be Filled With Thy Praise*

For mine enemies speak concerning me, and they that watch for my soul take counsel together,

*My Mouth Shall Be Filled With Thy Praise*

Saying:

‘God hath forsaken him; pursue and take him; for there is none to deliver.’

*My Mouth Shall Be Filled With Thy Praise*

O God, be not far from me; O my God, make haste to help me.

*My Mouth Shall Be Filled With Thy Praise*

Let them be ashamed and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and confusion that seek my hurt.

*My Mouth Shall Be Filled With Thy Praise*

And as for me, I will hope continually, and will praise Thee yet more and more.

*My Mouth Shall Be Filled With Thy Praise*

I will come with Thy mighty acts, my Lord jehovah; I will make mention of Thy righteousness, even of Thine only.

*My Mouth Shall Be Filled With Thy Praise*

O God, Thou hast taught me from my youth; and until now do I declare Thy wondrous works.

*My Mouth Shall Be Filled With Thy Praise*

And even unto old age and hoary hairs, O God, forsake me not; {N}

until I have declared Thy strength unto the next generation, Thy might to every one that is to come.

*My Mouth Shall Be Filled With Thy Praise*

Thy righteousness also, O God, which reacheth unto high heaven; {N}

Thou who hast done great things, O God, who is like unto Thee?

Thou, who hast made me to see many and sore troubles, {N}

wilt quicken me again, and bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

I will sing praises unto Thee with the harp, O Thou Holy One of Israel.

*My Mouth Shall Be Filled With Thy Praise*

Chapter 73 *The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

A Psalm of Asaph. {N}

Surely God is good to Israel, even to such as are pure in heart.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

For I was envious at the arrogant, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

For there are no pangs at their death, and their body is sound.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

In the trouble of man they are not; neither are they plagued like men.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

Therefore pride is as a chain about their neck; violence covereth them as a garment.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

Their eyes stand forth from fatness; they are gone beyond the imaginations of their heart.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

They scoff, and in wickedness utter oppression; they speak as if there were none on high.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

They have set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

Therefore his people return hither; and waters of fullness are drained out by them.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

And they say:

‘How doth God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?’

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

Behold, such are the wicked; and they that are always at ease increase riches.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

Surely in vain have I cleansed my heart, and washed my hands in innocency;

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

For all the day have I been plagued, and my chastisement came every morning.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

If I had said:

‘I will speak thus’,

behold, I had been faithless to the generation of Thy sons.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

And when I pondered how I might know this, it was wearisome in mine eyes;

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

Until I entered into the sanctuary of God, and considered their end.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

Surely Thou settest them in slippery places; Thou hurlest them down to utter ruin.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

How are they become a desolation in a moment! They are wholly consumed by terrors.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

As a dream when one awaketh, so, my Lord, when Thou arousest Thyself, Thou wilt despise their semblance.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

For my heart was in a ferment, and I was pricked in my reins.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

But I was brutish, and ignorant; I was as a beast before Thee.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

And I am continually with Thee; Thou holdest my right hand.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

Thou wilt guide me with Thy counsel, and afterward receive me with glory.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

Whom have I in heaven but Thee? And beside Thee I desire none upon earth.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

My flesh and my heart faileth; and God is the rock of my heart and my portion for ever.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

For, lo, they that go far from Thee shall perish; Thou dost destroy all them that go astray from Thee.

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; {N}

In my Lord jehovah I have made my refuge, that I may tell of all Thy works. {P}

*The Nearness of GOD is My Good*

Chapter 74 *Look Upon the Covenant*

Maschil of Asaph. {N}

Why, O God, hast Thou cast us off for ever? Why doth Thine anger smoke against the flock of Thy pasture?

*Look Upon the Covenant*

ב  זְכֹר עֲדָתְךָ, קָנִיתָ קֶּדֶם–    גָּאַלְתָּ, שֵׁבֶט נַחֲלָתֶךָ;

Remember Thy community, which Thou hast gotten of old, which Thou hast redeemed to be the tribe of Thine inheritance; {N}

and mount Zion, wherein Thou hast dwelt.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

Lift up Thy steps because of the perpetual ruins, even all the evil that the enemy hath done in the sanctuary.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

Thine adversaries have roared in the midst of Thy meeting-place; they have set up their own presence as proof.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

It seemed as when men wield upwards axes in a thicket of trees.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

And now all the carved work thereof together they strike down with hatchet and hammers.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

They have set Thy sanctuary on fire; they have profaned the dwelling-place of Thy name even to the ground.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

They said in their heart:

‘Let us make havoc of them altogether’;

they have burned up all the meeting-places of God in the land.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

We see not our signs; there is no more any prophet; neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

How long, O God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme Thy name for ever?

*Look Upon the Covenant*

Why withdrawest Thou Thy hand, even Thy right hand? Draw it out of Thy bosom and consume them.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

Yet God is my King of old, yeshua working in the midst of the earth.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

Thou didst break the sea in pieces by Thy strength; Thou didst shatter the heads of the sea-monsters in the waters.

Thou didst crush the heads of leviathan, Thou gavest him to be food to the folk inhabiting the wilderness.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

Thou didst cleave fountain and brook; Thou driedst up ever-flowing rivers.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

Thine is the day, Thine also the night; Thou hast established luminary and sun.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

Thou hast set all the borders of the earth; Thou hast made summer and winter.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

Remember this, how the enemy hath reproached jehovah, and how a base people have blasphemed Thy name.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

O deliver not the soul of Thy turtle-dove unto the wild beast; forget not the life of Thy poor for ever.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

Look upon the covenant; for the dark places of the land are full of the habitations of violence.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

O let not the oppressed turn back in confusion; let the poor and needy praise Thy name.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

Arise, O God, plead Thine own cause; remember Thy reproach all the day at the hand of the base man.

*Look Upon the Covenant*

Forget not the voice of Thine adversaries, the tumult of those that rise up against Thee which ascendeth continually. {P}

Chapter 75 *Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

For the Leader; Al-tashheth. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song.

We give thanks unto Thee, O God, we give thanks, and Thy name is near; men tell of Thy wondrous works.

*Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

‘When I take the appointed time, I Myself will judge with equity.

*Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

When the earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved, I Myself establish the pillars of it.’

*Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

[Selah]

I say unto the arrogant:

‘Deal not arrogantly’;

and to the wicked:

‘Lift not up the horn.’

*Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

Lift not up your horn on high; speak not insolence with a haughty neck.

*Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the wilderness, cometh lifting up.

*Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

For God is judge; He putteth down one, and lifteth up another.

*Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

For in the hand of jehovah there is a cup, with foaming wine, full of mixture, and He poureth out of the same; {N}

surely the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall drain them, and drink them.

*Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

But as for me, I will declare for ever, I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

*Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up. {P}
