54,2 when the Ziphites came and said to Saul:
‘Doth not David hide himself with us?’
54,3 O God, save me by Thy name, and right me by Thy might.
54,4 O God, hear my prayer; give ear to the words of my mouth.
54,5 For strangers are risen up against me, and violent men have sought after my soul; {N}
they have not set God before them.

54,6 Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is for me as the upholder of my soul.
54,7 He will requite the evil unto them that lie in wait for me; destroy Thou them in Thy truth.
54,8 With a freewill-offering will I sacrifice unto Thee; I will give thanks unto Thy name, O LORD, for it is good.
54,9 For He hath delivered me out of all trouble; and mine eye hath gazed upon mine enemies. {P}
Exodus
40,16 Thus did Moses; according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he. {S}
40,17 And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up.
40,18 And Moses reared up the tabernacle, and laid its sockets, and set up the boards thereof, and put in the bars thereof, and reared up its pillars.
40,19 And he spread the tent over the tabernacle, and put the covering of the tent above upon it; as the LORD commanded Moses. {S}
40,20 And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the ark-cover above upon the ark.
40,21 And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the veil of the screen, and screened the ark of the testimony; as the LORD commanded Moses. {S}
40,22 And he put the table in the tent of meeting, upon the side of the tabernacle northward, without the veil. 40,23 And he set a row of bread in order upon it before the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses. {S}
40,24 And he put the candlestick in the tent of meeting, over against the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward.
40,25 And he lighted the lamps before the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses. {S}
40,26 And he put the golden altar in the tent of meeting before the veil;
40,27 and he burnt thereon incense of sweet spices; as the LORD commanded Moses. {S}
40,28 And he put the screen of the door to the tabernacle.
40,29 And the altar of burnt-offering he set at the door of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, and offered upon it the burnt-offering and the meal-offering; as the LORD commanded Moses. {S}
40,30 And he set the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water therein, wherewith to wash; 40,31 that Moses and Aaron and his sons might wash their hands and their feet thereat;
40,32 when they went into the tent of meeting, and when they came near unto the altar, they should wash; as the LORD commanded Moses. {S}
40,33 And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the screen of the gate of the court. So Moses finished the work. {P}
40,34 Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
40,35 And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of meeting, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.–
40,36 And whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward, throughout all their journeys.
40,37 But if the cloud was not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.
40,38 For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and there was fire therein by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.– {P}

1 4,21 And she named the child Ichabod, saying:
‘The glory is departed from Israel’;
because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father-in-law and her husband.
1 4,22 And she said:
‘The glory is departed from Israel; for the ark of God is taken.’ {P}
1 5,1 Now the Philistines had taken the ark of God, and they brought it from Eben-ezer unto Ashdod.
1 5,2 And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.
1 5,3 And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.
1 5,4 And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands lay cut off upon the threshold; only the trunk of Dagon was left to him.
1 5,5 Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon’s house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day. {P}
1 5,6 But the hand of the LORD was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and He destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the borders thereof.
1 5,7 And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said:
‘The ark of the God of Israel shall not abide with us; for His hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.’
1 5,8 They sent therefore and gathered all the lords of the Philistines unto them, and said:
‘What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel?’
And they answered:
‘Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried about unto Gath.’
And they carried the ark of the God of Israel about thither. {S}
1 5,9 And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the LORD was against the city with a very great discomfiture; and He smote the men of the city, both small and great, and emerods broke out upon them.
1 5,10 So they sent the ark of God to Ekron. And it came to pass, as the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying:
‘They have brought about the ark of the God of Israel to us, to slay us and our people.’
1 5,11 They sent therefore and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and they said:
‘Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go back to its own place, that it slay us not, and our people’;
for there was a deadly discomfiture throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.
1 5,12 And the men that died not were smitten with the emerods; and the cry of the city went up to heaven. {S}
1 6,1 And the ark of the LORD was in the country of the Philistines seven months.
1 6,2 And the Philistines called for the priests and the diviners, saying:
‘What shall we do with the ark of the LORD? declare unto us wherewith we shall send it to its place.’ {S}
1 6,3 And they said:
‘If ye send away the ark of the God of Israel, send it not empty; but in any wise return Him a guilt-offering; then ye shall be healed, and it shall be known to you why His hand is not removed from you.’
1 6,4 Then said they:
‘What shall be the guilt-offering which we shall return to Him?’
And they said:
‘Five golden emerods, and five golden mice, according to the number of the lords of the Philistines; for one plague was on you all, and on your lords.
1 6,5 Wherefore ye shall make images of your emerods, and images of your mice that mar the land; and ye shall give glory unto the God of Israel; peradventure He will lighten His hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land.
1 6,6 Wherefore then do ye harden your hearts, as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? when He had wrought among them, did they not let the people go, and they departed?
1 6,7 Now therefore take and prepare you a new cart, and two milch kine, on which there hath come no yoke, and tie the kine to the cart, and bring their calves home from them.
1 6,8 And take the ark of the LORD, and lay it upon the cart; and put the jewels of gold, which ye return Him for a guilt-offering, in a coffer by the side thereof; and send it away, that it may go.
1 6,9 And see, if it goeth up by the way of its own border to Beth-shemesh, then He hath done us this great evil; but if not, then we shall know that it is not His hand that smote us; it was a chance that happened to us.’
1 6,10 And the men did so; and took two milch kine, and tied them to the cart, and shut up their calves at home.
1 6,11 And they put the ark of the LORD upon the cart, and the coffer with the mice of gold and the images of their emerods.
1 6,12 And the kine took the straight way by the way to Beth-shemesh; they went along the highway, lowing as they went, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left; and the lords of the Philistines went after them unto the border of Beth-shemesh.
Proverbs
28,11 The rich man is wise in his own eyes; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him through.

28,20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings; but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be unpunished.
28,21 To have respect of persons is not good; for a man will transgress for a piece of bread.
28,22 He that hath an evil eye hasteneth after riches, and knoweth not that want shall come upon him.
28,23 He that rebuketh a man shall in the end find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.
28,24 Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith:
‘It is no transgression’, the same is the companion of a destroyer.
28,25 He that is of a greedy spirit stirreth up strife; but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be abundantly gratified.
The Announcement of Matthew – Chapter 16
20 Then he enjoined on his disciples, that they should tell no man that he was the Messiah.
21 And from that time Jesus began to show to his disciples, that he was to go up to Jerusalem, and to suffer much from the Elders, and from the chief priests and Scribes, and be killed, and on the third day arise.
22 And Cephas took him, and began to rebuke him; and he said:
Far be it from thee, my Lord, that this should be to thee.
23 But he turned, and said to Cephas:
Get thee behind me, Satan :
Thou art a stumbling block to me; for thou thinkest not the things of God, but the things of men.
24 Then said Jesus to his disciples:
If any one desireth to come after me, let him deny himself; and let him bear his cross, and come after me.
25 For, whoever chooseth to preserve his life, shall lose it; and whoever will lose his life for my sake, shall find it.
26 For what will it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and shall lose his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul ?
27 For the Son of man is to come in the glory of his Father, with all his holy angels; and then will he recompense to every man as his deeds are.
28 Verily I say to you:
There are some persons standing here, who shall not taste death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
The Announcement of Matthew – Chapter 17
1 And after six days Jesus took Cephas, and James, and John his brother, and conducted them alone to a high mountain.
2 And Jesus was changed before them:
and his face shone like the sun; and his vestments became white like the light.

33 From prison and from judgment he was carried: and his generation, who will declare? for his life is taken away from the earth.
34 And the eunuch said to Philip:
I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this ? of himself, or of some other person ?
35 Then Philip opened his mouth and, from that scripture, began to preach to him concerning our Lord Jesus.
36 And as they proceeded on the way, they came to a certain place in which there was water. And the eunuch said:
Lo, [here is] water; what doth forbid, that I should be baptized?
37 [And Philip said:
