146,1 Hallelujah. {N}
Praise the LORD, O my soul.
146,2 I will praise the LORD while I live;
I will sing praises unto my God while I have my being.
146,3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
146,4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his dust;
in that very day his thoughts perish.
146,5 Happy is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,
146,6 Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is; {N}
who keepeth truth for ever;
146,7 Who executeth justice for the oppressed;
who giveth bread to the hungry.
The LORD looseth the prisoners;
146,8 The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind;
the LORD raiseth up them that are bowed down;
the LORD loveth the righteous;
146,9 The LORD preserveth the strangers; He upholdeth the fatherless and the widow;
but the way of the wicked He maketh crooked.
146,10 The LORD will reign for ever, thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. {N}

Genesis
14,7 And they turned back, and came to En-mishpat–
the same is Kadesh–
and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazazon-tamar.
14,8 And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela–
the same is Zoar;
and they set the battle in array against them in the vale of Siddim;
14,9 against Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goiim, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar;
four kings against the five.
14,10 Now the vale of Siddim was full of slime pits;
and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and they fell there, and they that remained fled to the mountain.
14,11 And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way.
14,12 And they took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.
14,13 And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew–
now he dwelt by the terebinths of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner;
and these were confederate with Abram.
14,14 And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he led forth his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued as far as Dan.
14,15 And he divided himself against them by night, he and his servants, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.
14,16 And he brought back all the goods, and also brought back his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.
14,17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him, after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer and the kings that were with him, at the vale of Shaveh–
the same is the King’s Vale.
14,18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine;
and he was priest of God the Most High.
14,19 And he blessed him, and said:
‘Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Maker of heaven and earth;
14,20 and blessed be God the Most High, who hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand.’
And he gave him a tenth of all.
14,21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram:
‘Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself.’
14,22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom:
‘I have lifted up my hand unto the LORD, God Most High, Maker of heaven and earth,
14,23 that I will not take a thread nor a shoe-latchet nor aught that is thine, lest thou shouldest say:
I have made Abram rich;
14,24 save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre, let them take their portion.’ {S}
Isaiah
1,27 Zion shall be redeemed with justice, and they that return of her with righteousness.
1,28 But the destruction of the transgressors and the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.
1,29 For they shall be ashamed of the terebinths which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen. 1,30 For ye shall be as a terebinth whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.
1,31 And the strong shall be as tow, and his work as a spark; and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them. {P}
2,1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2,2 And it shall come to pass in the end of days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established as the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills;
and all nations shall flow unto it.
2,3 And many peoples shall go and say:
‘Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob;
and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths.’
For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
2,4 And He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide for many peoples;
and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks;
nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. {P}
2,5 O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.
2,6 For Thou hast forsaken Thy people the house of Jacob;
for they are replenished from the east, and with soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the brood of aliens.
2,7 Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures;
their land also is full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots.
2,8 Their land also is full of idols;
every one worshippeth the work of his own hands, that which his own fingers have made.
2,9 And man boweth down, and man lowereth himself;
and Thou canst not bear with them.
2,10 Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, from before the terror of the LORD, and from the glory of His majesty.
2,11 The lofty looks of man shall be brought low, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. {P}
2,12 For the LORD of hosts hath a day upon all that is proud and lofty, and upon all that is lifted up, and it shall be brought low;
2,13 And upon all the cedars of Lebanon that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan;
2,14 And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up;
2,15 And upon every lofty tower, and upon every fortified wall;
2,16 And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all delightful imagery.
2,17 And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low;
and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
2,18 And the idols shall utterly pass away.
2,19 And men shall go into the caves of the rocks, and into the holes of the earth, from before the terror of the LORD, and from the glory of His majesty, when He ariseth to shake mightily the earth.
2,20 In that day a man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made for themselves to worship, to the moles and to the bats;
2,21 To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the crevices of the crags, from before the terror of the LORD, and from the glory of His majesty, when he ariseth to shake mightily the earth.
2,22 Cease ye from man, in whose nostrils is a breath;
for how little is he to be accounted! {P}
Ecclesiastes
9,18 Wisdom is better than weapons of war;
but one sinner destroyeth much good.
10,1 Dead flies make the ointment of the perfumer fetid and putrid;
so doth a little folly outweigh wisdom and honour.
10,2 A wise man’s understanding is at his right hand;
but a fool’s understanding at his left.
10,3 Yea also, when a fool walketh by the way, his understanding faileth him, and he saith to every one that he is a fool.
10,4 If the spirit of the ruler rise up against thee, leave not thy place;
for gentleness allayeth great offences.
10,5 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, like an error which proceedeth from a ruler:
10,6 Folly is set on great heights, and the rich sit in low place.
10,7 I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.
10,8 He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it;
and whoso breaketh through a fence, a serpent shall bite him.
10,9 Whoso quarrieth stones shall be hurt therewith;
and he that cleaveth wood is endangered thereby.
10,10 If the iron be blunt, and one do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength;
but wisdom is profitable to direct.
10,11 If the serpent bite before it is charmed, then the charmer hath no advantage.
10,12 The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious;
but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.
10,13 The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness;
and the end of his talk is grievous madness.
10,14 A fool also multiplieth words;
yet man knoweth not what shall be;
and that which shall be after him, who can tell him?
Mark 16:11 – And they, when they heard [the women] say that he was alive, and that he had appeared to them, did not believe them.
Mark 16:12 – After this he appeared, under another aspect, to two of them as they walked and went into the country.
Mark 16:13 – And these went and told the rest;
but they would not believe them
Mark 16:14 – And at last, he appeared to the eleven:
as they reclined at table;
and he reproved the slenderness of their faith, and the hardness of their heart;
because they believed not those who had seen him actually risen.
Mark 16:15 – And he said to them:
Go ye into all the world, and proclaim my tidings in the whole creation.
Mark 16:16 – He that believeth, and is baptized, liveth;
but he that believeth not, is condemned.
Mark 16:17 – And these signs shall attend them that believe:
In my name, they will cast out demons;
and in new tongues will they speak.
Mark 16:18 – And they will take up serpents;
and if they should drink a deadly poison, it will not harm them;
and they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.
Mark 16:19 – And Jesus, our Lord, after he had conversed with them, ascended to heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
Mark 16:20 – And they went forth, and preached everywhere:
and our Lord aided them, and confirmed their discourses by the signs which they wrought.
Acts 27:32 – Then the soldiers cut the boat rope from the ship, and let the boat go adrift.
Acts 27:33 – And while it was not yet morning, Paul advised them all to take food, saying to them:
In consequence of the peril, it is now the fourteenth day that ye have tasted nothing.
Acts 27:34 – Therefore I entreat you, to take food for the sustenance of your life;
for not a hair from the head of any of you, will perish.
Acts 27:35 – And having said these things, he took bread, and gave glory to God before them all; and he broke [it], and began to eat.
Acts 27:36 – And they were all consoled;
and they took nourishment.
Acts 27:37 – And there were of us in the ship two hundred and seventy-six souls.
