Chapter 21 *So Will We Sing and Praise Thy Power*
א לַמְנַצֵּחַ, מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד. 1
For the Leader.
A Psalm of David.
ב יְהוָה, בְּעָזְּךָ יִשְׂמַח-מֶלֶךְ; וּבִישׁוּעָתְךָ, מַה-יגיל (יָּגֶל) מְאֹד. 2
O Eternal, in Thy strength the king rejoiceth;
and in Thy yeshua how greatly doth he exult!
*So Will We Sing and Praise Thy Power*
ג תַּאֲוַת לִבּוֹ, נָתַתָּה לּוֹ; וַאֲרֶשֶׁת שְׂפָתָיו, בַּל-מָנַעְתָּ סֶּלָה. 3
Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and the request of his lips Thou hast not withholden.
*So Will We Sing and Praise Thy Power*

ד כִּי-תְקַדְּמֶנּוּ, בִּרְכוֹת טוֹב; תָּשִׁית לְרֹאשׁוֹ, עֲטֶרֶת פָּז. 4
For Thou meetest him with choicest blessings;
Thou settest a crown of fine gold on his head.

ה חַיִּים, שָׁאַל מִמְּךָ–נָתַתָּה לּוֹ; אֹרֶךְ יָמִים, עוֹלָם וָעֶד. 5
He asked life of Thee, Thou gavest it Him;
even length of days for ever and ever.
*So Will We Sing and Praise Thy Power*
ו גָּדוֹל כְּבוֹדוֹ, בִּישׁוּעָתֶךָ; הוֹד וְהָדָר, תְּשַׁוֶּה עָלָיו. 6
His glory is great through Thy yeshua;
honour and majesty dost Thou lay upon Him.
*So Will We Sing and Praise Thy Power*
ז כִּי-תְשִׁיתֵהוּ בְרָכוֹת לָעַד; תְּחַדֵּהוּ בְשִׂמְחָה, אֶת-פָּנֶיךָ. 7
For Thou makest him most blessed for ever;
Thou makest him glad with joy in Thy presence.
*So Will We Sing and Praise Thy Power*
ח כִּי-הַמֶּלֶךְ, בֹּטֵחַ בַּיהוָה; וּבְחֶסֶד עֶלְיוֹן, בַּל-יִמּוֹט. 8
For the king trusteth in the Eternal, yea, in the kindness of the Most High;
he shall not be moved.
*So Will We Sing and Praise Thy Power*
ט תִּמְצָא יָדְךָ, לְכָל-אֹיְבֶיךָ; יְמִינְךָ, תִּמְצָא שֹׂנְאֶיךָ. 9
Thy hand shall be equal to all thine enemies;
thy right hand shall overtake those that disdain thee.
*So Will We Sing and Praise Thy Power*
י תְּשִׁיתֵמוֹ, כְּתַנּוּר אֵשׁ– לְעֵת פָּנֶיךָ:
יְהוָה, בְּאַפּוֹ יְבַלְּעֵם; וְתֹאכְלֵם אֵשׁ. 10
Thou shalt make them as a fiery furnace in the time of thine anger; {N}
The Eternal shall swallow them up in His wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

יא פִּרְיָמוֹ, מֵאֶרֶץ תְּאַבֵּד; וְזַרְעָם, מִבְּנֵי אָדָם. 11
Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the sons of men.

יב כִּי-נָטוּ עָלֶיךָ רָעָה; חָשְׁבוּ מְזִמָּה, בַּל-יוּכָלוּ. 12
For they intended evil against thee, they imagined a device, wherewith they shall not prevail.

יג כִּי, תְּשִׁיתֵמוֹ שֶׁכֶם; בְּמֵיתָרֶיךָ, תְּכוֹנֵן עַל-פְּנֵיהֶם. 13
For thou shalt make them turn their back, thou shalt make ready with thy bowstrings against the face of them.

יד רוּמָה יְהוָה בְּעֻזֶּךָ; נָשִׁירָה וּנְזַמְּרָה, גְּבוּרָתֶךָ. 14
Be Thou exalted, O Eternal, in Thy strength;
so will we sing and praise Thy power. {P}

Chapter 22 *Ye That Trust Eternal Praise Him*
א לַמְנַצֵּחַ,
עַל-אַיֶּלֶת הַשַּׁחַר;
מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד. 1
For the Leader;
upon Aijeleth ha-Shahar.
A Psalm of David.
ב אֵלִי אֵלִי, לָמָה עֲזַבְתָּנִי; רָחוֹק מִישׁוּעָתִי, דִּבְרֵי שַׁאֲגָתִי. 2
My Champion, my Champion, why hast Thou forsaken me, and art far from my help at the words of my cry?
*Ye That Trust Eternal Praise Him*
ג אֱלֹהַי–אֶקְרָא יוֹמָם, וְלֹא תַעֲנֶה; וְלַיְלָה, וְלֹא-דֻמִיָּה לִי. 3
O my Champion, I call by day, but Thou answerest not;
and at night, and there is no surcease for me.

ד וְאַתָּה קָדוֹשׁ– יוֹשֵׁב, תְּהִלּוֹת יִשְׂרָאֵל. 4
And Thou art holy, O Thou that art enthroned upon the praises of Israel.

ה בְּךָ, בָּטְחוּ אֲבֹתֵינוּ; בָּטְחוּ, וַתְּפַלְּטֵמוֹ. 5
In Thee did our fathers trust;
they trusted, and Thou didst deliver them.

ו אֵלֶיךָ זָעֲקוּ וְנִמְלָטוּ; בְּךָ בָטְחוּ וְלֹא-בוֹשׁוּ. 6
Unto Thee they cried, and escaped;
in Thee did they trust, and were not ashamed.

ז וְאָנֹכִי תוֹלַעַת וְלֹא-אִישׁ; חֶרְפַּת אָדָם, וּבְזוּי עָם. 7
But I am a worm, and no man;
a reproach of men, and despised of the people.

ח כָּל-רֹאַי, יַלְעִגוּ לִי; יַפְטִירוּ בְשָׂפָה, יָנִיעוּ רֹאשׁ. 8
All they that see me laugh me to scorn;
they shoot out the lip, they shake the head:

ט גֹּל אֶל-יְהוָה יְפַלְּטֵהוּ; יַצִּילֵהוּ, כִּי חָפֵץ בּוֹ. 9
‘Let him commit himself unto the Eternal!
let Him rescue him;
let Him deliver him, seeing He delighteth in him.’

י כִּי-אַתָּה גֹחִי מִבָּטֶן; מַבְטִיחִי, עַל-שְׁדֵי אִמִּי. 10
For Thou art He that took me out of the womb;
Thou madest me trust when I was upon my mother’s breasts.

יא עָלֶיךָ, הָשְׁלַכְתִּי מֵרָחֶם; מִבֶּטֶן אִמִּי, אֵלִי אָתָּה. 11
Upon Thee I have been cast from my birth;
Thou art my Champion from my mother’s womb.

יב אַל-תִּרְחַק מִמֶּנִּי, כִּי-צָרָה קְרוֹבָה: כִּי-אֵין עוֹזֵר. 12
Be not far from me;
for trouble is near;
for there is none to help.

יג סְבָבוּנִי, פָּרִים רַבִּים; אַבִּירֵי בָשָׁן כִּתְּרוּנִי. 13
Many bulls have encompassed me;
strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.

יד פָּצוּ עָלַי פִּיהֶם; אַרְיֵה, טֹרֵף וְשֹׁאֵג. 14
They open wide their mouth against me, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
*Ye That Trust Eternal Praise Him*
טו כַּמַּיִם נִשְׁפַּכְתִּי– וְהִתְפָּרְדוּ, כָּל-עַצְמוֹתָי:
הָיָה לִבִּי, כַּדּוֹנָג; נָמֵס, בְּתוֹךְ מֵעָי. 15
I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; {N}
my heart is become like wax;
it is melted in mine inmost parts.

טז יָבֵשׁ כַּחֶרֶשׂ, כֹּחִי, וּלְשׁוֹנִי, מֻדְבָּק מַלְקוֹחָי; וְלַעֲפַר-מָוֶת תִּשְׁפְּתֵנִי. 16
My strength is dried up like a potsherd;
and my tongue cleaveth to my throat;
and Thou layest me in the dust of death.

יז כִּי סְבָבוּנִי, כְּלָבִים: עֲדַת מְרֵעִים, הִקִּיפוּנִי; כָּאֲרִי, יָדַי וְרַגְלָי. 17
For dogs have encompassed me;
a company of evil-doers have inclosed me;
like a lion, they are at my hands and my feet.

יח אֲסַפֵּר כָּל-עַצְמוֹתָי; הֵמָּה יַבִּיטוּ, יִרְאוּ-בִי. 18
I may count all my bones;
they look and gloat over me.

יט יְחַלְּקוּ בְגָדַי לָהֶם; וְעַל-לְבוּשִׁי, יַפִּילוּ גוֹרָל. 19
They part my garments among them, and for my vesture do they cast lots.

כ וְאַתָּה יְהוָה, אַל-תִּרְחָק; אֱיָלוּתִי, לְעֶזְרָתִי חוּשָׁה. 20
But Thou Eternal, be not far off;
O Thou my strength, hasten to help me.

כא הַצִּילָה מֵחֶרֶב נַפְשִׁי; מִיַּד-כֶּלֶב, יְחִידָתִי. 21
Deliver my soul from the sword;
mine only one from the power of the dog.

כב הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי, מִפִּי אַרְיֵה; וּמִקַּרְנֵי רֵמִים עֲנִיתָנִי. 22
Save me from the lion’s mouth;
yea, from the horns of the wild-oxen do Thou answer me.

כג אֲסַפְּרָה שִׁמְךָ לְאֶחָי; בְּתוֹךְ קָהָל אֲהַלְלֶךָּ. 23
I will declare Thy name unto my brethren;
in the midst of the Assembly will I praise Thee.

כד יִרְאֵי יְהוָה, הַלְלוּהוּ– כָּל-זֶרַע יַעֲקֹב כַּבְּדוּהוּ;
וְגוּרוּ מִמֶּנּוּ, כָּל-זֶרַע יִשְׂרָאֵל. 24
‘Ye that fear Eternal praise Him;
all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify Him; {N}
and stand in awe of Him, all ye the seed of Israel.

כה כִּי לֹא-בָזָה וְלֹא שִׁקַּץ, עֱנוּת עָנִי– וְלֹא-הִסְתִּיר פָּנָיו מִמֶּנּוּ;
וּבְשַׁוְּעוֹ אֵלָיו שָׁמֵעַ. 25
For He hath not despised nor abhorred the lowliness of the poor;
neither hath He hid His face from him; {N}
but when he cried unto Him, He heard.’

כו מֵאִתְּךָ, תְּהִלָּתִי: בְּקָהָל רָב–נְדָרַי אֲשַׁלֵּם, נֶגֶד יְרֵאָיו. 26
From Thee cometh my praise in the Great Assembly;
I will pay my vows before them that fear Him.
*Ye That Trust Eternal Praise Him*
כז יֹאכְלוּ עֲנָוִים, וְיִשְׂבָּעוּ– יְהַלְלוּ יְהוָה, דֹּרְשָׁיו;
יְחִי לְבַבְכֶם לָעַד. 27
Let the humble eat and be satisfied;
let them praise Eternal that seek after Him; {N}
may your heart be quickened for ever!

כח יִזְכְּרוּ, וְיָשֻׁבוּ אֶל-יְהוָה– כָּל-אַפְסֵי-אָרֶץ;
וְיִשְׁתַּחֲווּ לְפָנֶיךָ, כָּל-מִשְׁפְּחוֹת גּוֹיִם. 28
All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn unto Eternal; {N}
and all the kindreds of the goyim shall worship before Thee.

כט כִּי לַיהוָה, הַמְּלוּכָה; וּמֹשֵׁל, בַּגּוֹיִם. 29
For the kingdom is for the Eternal;
and He is the ruler over the goyim.

ל אָכְלוּ וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּ, כָּל-דִּשְׁנֵי-אֶרֶץ– לְפָנָיו יִכְרְעוּ, כָּל-יוֹרְדֵי עָפָר;
וְנַפְשׁוֹ, לֹא חִיָּה. 30
All the fat ones of the earth shall eat and worship;
all they that go down to the dust shall kneel before Him, {N}
even he that cannot keep his soul alive.

לא זֶרַע יַעַבְדֶנּוּ; יְסֻפַּר לַאדֹנָי לַדּוֹר. 31
A seed shall serve him;
it shall be told of my Master unto the next generation.

לב יָבֹאוּ, וְיַגִּידוּ צִדְקָתוֹ: לְעַם נוֹלָד, כִּי עָשָׂה. 32
They shall come and shall declare His righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that He hath done it. {P}

Chapter 23 *Goodness and Kindness Shall Follow Me*
א מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד: יְהוָה רֹעִי, לֹא אֶחְסָר. 1
A Psalm of David.
The Eternal One is my shepherd;
I shall not want.

ב בִּנְאוֹת דֶּשֶׁא, יַרְבִּיצֵנִי; עַל-מֵי מְנֻחוֹת יְנַהֲלֵנִי. 2
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures;
He leadeth me beside the still waters.

ג נַפְשִׁי יְשׁוֹבֵב; יַנְחֵנִי בְמַעְגְּלֵי-צֶדֶק, לְמַעַן שְׁמוֹ. 3
He restoreth my soul;
He guideth me in straight paths for His name’s sake.

ד גַּם כִּי-אֵלֵךְ בְּגֵיא צַלְמָוֶת, לֹא-אִירָא רָע– כִּי-אַתָּה עִמָּדִי;
שִׁבְטְךָ וּמִשְׁעַנְתֶּךָ, הֵמָּה יְנַחֲמֻנִי. 4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me; {N}
Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.

ה תַּעֲרֹךְ לְפָנַי, שֻׁלְחָן– נֶגֶד צֹרְרָי;
דִּשַּׁנְתָּ בַשֶּׁמֶן רֹאשִׁי, כּוֹסִי רְוָיָה. 5
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; {N}
Thou hast anointed my head with oil;
my cup runneth over.

ו אַךְ, טוֹב וָחֶסֶד יִרְדְּפוּנִי– כָּל-יְמֵי חַיָּי;
וְשַׁבְתִּי בְּבֵית-יְהוָה, לְאֹרֶךְ יָמִים. 6
Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me all the days of my life; {N}
and I shall dwell in the house of the Eternal for ever. {P}

Chapter 24 *The Earth is For The Eternal and the Fullness Thereof*
א לְדָוִד, מִזְמוֹר:
לַיהוָה, הָאָרֶץ וּמְלוֹאָהּ; תֵּבֵל, וְיֹשְׁבֵי בָהּ. 1
A Psalm of David. {N}
The earth is for Eternal, and the fulness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein.

ב כִּי-הוּא, עַל-יַמִּים יְסָדָהּ; וְעַל-נְהָרוֹת, יְכוֹנְנֶהָ. 2
For He hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

ג מִי-יַעֲלֶה בְהַר-יְהוָה; וּמִי-יָקוּם, בִּמְקוֹם קָדְשׁוֹ. 3
Who shall ascend into the mountain of Eternal?
and who shall stand in His holy place?

ד נְקִי כַפַּיִם, וּבַר-לֵבָב:
אֲשֶׁר לֹא-נָשָׂא לַשָּׁוְא נַפְשִׁי; וְלֹא נִשְׁבַּע לְמִרְמָה. 4
He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; {N}
who hath not taken My name in vain, and hath not sworn deceitfully.

ה יִשָּׂא בְרָכָה, מֵאֵת יְהוָה; וּצְדָקָה, מֵאֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעוֹ. 5
He shall receive a blessing from Eternal, and righteousness from the Almighty of his yeshua.

ו זֶה, דּוֹר דֹּרְשָׁו; מְבַקְשֵׁי פָנֶיךָ יַעֲקֹב סֶלָה. 6
Such is the generation of them that seek after Him, that seek Thy face, even Jacob.

ז שְׂאוּ שְׁעָרִים, רָאשֵׁיכֶם, וְהִנָּשְׂאוּ, פִּתְחֵי עוֹלָם;
וְיָבוֹא, מֶלֶךְ הַכָּבוֹד. 7
Lift up your heads, O ye gates, and be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors; {N}
that the King of glory may come in.

ח מִי זֶה, מֶלֶךְ הַכָּבוֹד:
יְהוָה, עִזּוּז וְגִבּוֹר; יְהוָה, גִּבּוֹר מִלְחָמָה. 8

‘The Eternal strong and mighty, The Eternal mighty in war.’

ט שְׂאוּ שְׁעָרִים, רָאשֵׁיכֶם, וּשְׂאוּ, פִּתְחֵי עוֹלָם;
וְיָבֹא, מֶלֶךְ הַכָּבוֹד. 9

Chapter 25 *Unto Thee O Eternal Do I Lift Up My Soul*
א לְדָוִד: אֵלֶיךָ יְהוָה, נַפְשִׁי אֶשָּׂא. 1
[A Psalm] of David.
Unto Thee O Eternal do I lift up my soul.
*Unto Thee O Eternal Do I Lift Up My Soul*
ב אֱלֹהַי–בְּךָ בָטַחְתִּי, אַל-אֵבוֹשָׁה; אַל-יַעַלְצוּ אוֹיְבַי לִי. 2
O my Mighty One, in Thee have I trusted, let me not be ashamed;
let not mine enemies triumph over me.

ג גַּם כָּל-קֹוֶיךָ, לֹא יֵבֹשׁוּ; יֵבֹשׁוּ, הַבּוֹגְדִים רֵיקָם. 3
Yea, none that wait for Thee shall be ashamed;
they shall be ashamed that deal treacherously without cause.

ד דְּרָכֶיךָ יְהוָה, הוֹדִיעֵנִי; אֹרְחוֹתֶיךָ לַמְּדֵנִי. 4
Show me Thy ways, O Eternal;
teach me Thy paths.
*Unto Thee O Eternal Do I Lift Up My Soul*
ה הַדְרִיכֵנִי בַאֲמִתֶּךָ, וְלַמְּדֵנִי– כִּי-אַתָּה, אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׁעִי;
אוֹתְךָ קִוִּיתִי, כָּל-הַיּוֹם. 5
Guide me in Thy truth, and teach me;
for Thou art the Mighty One of my yeshua; {N}
for Thee do I wait all the day.

ו זְכֹר-רַחֲמֶיךָ יְהוָה, וַחֲסָדֶיךָ: כִּי מֵעוֹלָם הֵמָּה. 6
Remember, O Eternal, Thy eternal compassion and Thy kindness;
for they have been from of old.
*Unto Thee O Eternal Do I Lift Up My Soul*
ז חַטֹּאות נְעוּרַי, וּפְשָׁעַי– אַל-תִּזְכֹּר:
כְּחַסְדְּךָ זְכָר-לִי-אַתָּה– לְמַעַן טוּבְךָ יְהוָה. 7
Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; {N}
according to Thy mercy remember Thou me, for Thy goodness’ sake, O Eternal.

ח טוֹב-וְיָשָׁר יְהוָה; עַל-כֵּן יוֹרֶה חַטָּאִים בַּדָּרֶךְ. 8
Good and upright is Eternal;
therefore doth He instruct sinners in the way.

ט יַדְרֵךְ עֲנָוִים, בַּמִּשְׁפָּט; וִילַמֵּד עֲנָוִים דַּרְכּוֹ. 9
He guideth the humble in justice;
and He teacheth the humble His way.
*Unto Thee O Eternal Do I Lift Up My Soul*
י כָּל-אָרְחוֹת יְהוָה, חֶסֶד וֶאֱמֶת– לְנֹצְרֵי בְרִיתוֹ, וְעֵדֹתָיו. 10
All the paths of Eternal are kindness and truth unto such as keep His covenant and His customs.
*Unto Thee O Eternal Do I Lift Up My Soul*
יא לְמַעַן-שִׁמְךָ יְהוָה; וְסָלַחְתָּ לַעֲוֹנִי, כִּי רַב-הוּא. 11
For Thy name’s sake, O Eternal, pardon mine iniquity, for it is great.

יב מִי-זֶה הָאִישׁ, יְרֵא יְהוָה– יוֹרֶנּוּ, בְּדֶרֶךְ יִבְחָר. 12
What man is he that is impressed with Eternal?
Him will He instruct in the way that he should choose.

יג נַפְשׁוֹ, בְּטוֹב תָּלִין; וְזַרְעוֹ, יִירַשׁ אָרֶץ. 13
His soul shall abide in prosperity;
and his seed shall inherit the land.

יד סוֹד יְהוָה, לִירֵאָיו; וּבְרִיתוֹ, לְהוֹדִיעָם. 14
The counsel of Eternal is with them that fear Him;
and His covenant, to make them know it.

טו עֵינַי תָּמִיד, אֶל-יְהוָה: כִּי הוּא-יוֹצִיא מֵרֶשֶׁת רַגְלָי. 15
Mine eyes are ever toward Eternal;
for He will bring forth my feet out of the net.

טז פְּנֵה-אֵלַי וְחָנֵּנִי: כִּי-יָחִיד וְעָנִי אָנִי. 16
Turn Thee unto me, and be gracious unto me;
for I am solitary and afflicted.

יז צָרוֹת לְבָבִי הִרְחִיבוּ; מִמְּצוּקוֹתַי, הוֹצִיאֵנִי. 17
The troubles of my heart are enlarged;
O bring Thou me out of my distresses.

יח רְאֵה עָנְיִי, וַעֲמָלִי; וְשָׂא, לְכָל-חַטֹּאותָי. 18
See mine affliction and my travail;
and forgive all my sins.

יט רְאֵה-אֹיְבַי כִּי-רָבּוּ; וְשִׂנְאַת חָמָס שְׂנֵאוּנִי. 19
Consider how many are mine enemies, and the cruel hatred wherewith they hate me.

כ שָׁמְרָה נַפְשִׁי, וְהַצִּילֵנִי; אַל-אֵבוֹשׁ, כִּי-חָסִיתִי בָךְ. 20
O keep my soul, and deliver me;
let me not be ashamed, for I have taken refuge in Thee.

כא תֹּם-וָיֹשֶׁר יִצְּרוּנִי: כִּי, קִוִּיתִיךָ. 21
Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, because I wait for Thee.
