The August 1 Bible

Psalms – 31,6 Into Thy hand I commit my spirit;
Thou hast redeemed me, O LORD, Thou God of truth.
31,7 I hate them that regard lying vanities;
but I trust in the LORD.
31,8 I will be glad and rejoice in Thy lovingkindness; {N}
for Thou hast seen mine affliction, Thou hast taken cognizance of the troubles of my soul,
31,9 And Thou hast not given me over into the hand of the enemy;
Thou hast set my feet in a broad place.
31,10 Be gracious unto me, O LORD, for I am in distress; {N}
mine eye wasteth away with vexation, yea, my soul and my body.
31,11 For my life is spent in sorrow, and my years in sighing; {N}
my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are wasted away.

Genesis – 38,9 And Onan knew that the seed would not be his;
and it came to pass when he went in unto his brother’s wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest he should give seed to his brother.
38,10 And the thing which he did was evil in the sight of the LORD;
and He slew him also.
38,11 Then said Judah to Tamar his daughter-in-law:
‘Remain a widow in thy father’s house, till Shelah my son be grown up’;
for he said:
‘Lest he also die, like his brethren.’
And Tamar went and dwelt in her father’s house.
38,12 And in process of time Shua’s daughter, the wife of Judah, died;
and Judah was comforted, and went up unto his sheep-shearers to Timnah, he and his friend Hirah the Adullamite.
38,13 And it was told Tamar, saying:
‘Behold, thy father-in-law goeth up to Timnah to shear his sheep.’
38,14 And she put off from her the garments of her widowhood, and covered herself with her veil, and wrapped herself, and sat in the entrance of Enaim, which is by the way to Timnah;
for she saw that Shelah was grown up, and she was not given unto him to wife.
38,15 When Judah saw her, he thought her to be a harlot;
for she had covered her face.
38,16 And he turned unto her by the way, and said:
‘Come, I pray thee, let me come in unto thee’;
for he knew not that she was his daughter-in-law.
And she said:
‘What wilt thou give me, that thou mayest come in unto me?’
38,17 And he said:
‘I will send thee a kid of the goats from the flock.’
And she said:
‘Wilt thou give me a pledge, till thou send it?’
38,18 And he said:
‘What pledge shall I give thee?’
And she said:
‘Thy signet and thy cord, and thy staff that is in thy hand.’
And he gave them to her, and came in unto her, and she conceived by him.
38,19 And she arose, and went away, and put off her veil from her, and put on the garments of her widowhood.
38,20 And Judah sent the kid of the goats by the hand of his friend the Adullamite, to receive the pledge from the woman’s hand;
but he found her not.
38,21 Then he asked the men of her place, saying:
‘Where is the harlot, that was at Enaim by the wayside?’
And they said:
‘There hath been no harlot here.’
38,22 And he returned to Judah, and said:
‘I have not found her;
and also the men of the place said:
There hath been no harlot here.’
38,23 And Judah said:
‘Let her take it, lest we be put to shame;
behold, I sent this kid, and thou hast not found her.’
38,24 And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying:
‘Tamar thy daughter-in-law hath played the harlot;
and moreover, behold, she is with child by harlotry.’
And Judah said:
‘Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.’
38,25 When she was brought forth, she sent to her father-in-law, saying:
‘By the man, whose these are, am I with child’;
and she said:
‘Discern, I pray thee, whose are these, the signet, and the cords, and the staff.’

Isaiah – 64,4 Thou didst take away him that joyfully worked righteousness, those that remembered Thee in Thy ways–
behold, Thou wast wroth, and we sinned–
upon them have we stayed of old, that we might be saved.
64,5 And we are all become as one that is unclean, and all our righteousnesses are as a polluted garment;
and we all do fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
64,6 And there is none that calleth upon Thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of Thee;
for Thou hast hid Thy face from us, and hast consumed us by means of our iniquities.
64,7 But now, O LORD, Thou art our Father;
we are the clay, and Thou our potter, and we all are the work of Thy hand.
64,8 Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever;
behold, look, we beseech Thee, we are all Thy people.
64,9 Thy holy cities are become a wilderness, Zion is become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.
64,10 Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised Thee, is burned with fire;
and all our pleasant things are laid waste.
64,11 Wilt Thou refrain Thyself for these things, O LORD?
Wilt Thou hold Thy peace, and afflict us very sore? {P}

65,1 I gave access to them that asked not for Me, I was at hand to them that sought Me not;
I said:
‘Behold Me, behold Me’,
unto a nation that was not called by My name.
65,2 I have spread out My hands all the day unto a rebellious people, that walk in a way that is not good, after their own thoughts;
65,3 A people that provoke Me to My face continually, that sacrifice in gardens, and burn incense upon bricks;
65,4 That sit among the graves, and lodge in the vaults;
that eat swine’s flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;
65,5 That say:
‘Stand by thyself, come not near to me, for I am holier than thou’;
these are a smoke in My nose, a fire that burneth all the day.
65,6 Behold, it is written before Me;
I will not keep silence, except I have requited, yea, I will requite into their bosom,
65,7 Your own iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, that have offered upon the mountains, and blasphemed Me upon the hills;
therefore will I first measure their wage into their bosom. {S}
65,8 Thus saith the LORD:
As, when wine is found in the cluster, one saith:
‘Destroy it not, for a blessing is in it’;
so will I do for My servants’ sakes, that I may not destroy all.
65,9 And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of My mountains;
and Mine elect shall inherit it, and My servants shall dwell there.
65,10 And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for herds to lie down in, for My people that have sought Me;
65,11 But ye that forsake the LORD, that forget My holy mountain, that prepare a table for Fortune, and that offer mingled wine in full measure unto Destiny,
65,12 I will destine you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter;
because when I called, ye did not answer, when I spoke, ye did not hear;
but ye did that which was evil in Mine eyes, and chose that wherein I delighted not. {P}

65,13 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD:
Behold, My servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry;
Behold, My servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty;
Behold, My servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed;
65,14 Behold, My servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall wail for vexation of spirit.
65,15 And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto Mine elect:
‘So may the Lord GOD slay thee’;
but He shall call His servants by another name;
65,16 So that he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself by the God of truth;
and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth;
because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from Mine eyes.
65,17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth;
and the former things shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
65,18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create;
for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.

Mark 11:12 – And the day after, when he went from Beth-ania, he hungered.
Mark 11:13 – And he saw a certain fig-tree from afar which had leaves on it, and he came to it, if he might find upon it somewhat;
but when he came, he found on it only the leaves, for the time was not for figs (to have been ingathered).
Mark 11:14 – And he said to it,
Henceforth and for ever man from thee fruit shall not eat.
And his disciples heard.
And they came to Urishlem.
Mark 11:15 – And Jeshu went into the temple of Aloha, and began to cast forth those who sold and bought in the temple, and he overthrew the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of them who sold doves:
Mark 11:16 – and he would not suffer any man to carry goods through the temple.
Mark 11:17 – And he taught, and said to them,
Is it not written,
That my house the house of prayer shall be called of all nations ?
but you have made it a den of thieves.
Mark 11:18 – And the chief priests and Sophree heard it, and inquired how they might destroy him;
for they feared from him, because all the people admired his doctrine.
Mark 11:19 – AND when it was evening, they went without from the city.
Mark 11:20 – And in the morning, while they passed by, they saw that fig-tree that it was dry from its root.
Mark 11:21 – And Shemun remembered and said to him,
Rabi, behold, that fig-tree which thou didst curse hath dried.
Mark 11:22 – And Jeshu answered and said to them,
Let there be in you the faith of Aloha.

Ezra – E 5,3 At the same time came to them Tattenai, the governor beyond the River, and Shethar-bozenai, and their companions, and said thus unto them:
‘Who gave you a decree to build this house, and to finish this structure?’ {S}
E 5,4 ‘Then spoke we unto them after this manner [, wrote they]:
What are the names of the men that build this building?’
E 5,5 But the eye of their God was upon the elders of the Jews, and they did not make them cease, till the matter should come to Darius, and then answer should be returned by letter concerning it. {P}
E 5,6 The copy of the letter that Tattenai, the governor beyond the River, and Shethar-bozenai, and his companions the Apharesachites, who were beyond the River, sent unto Darius the king;
E 5,7 they sent a letter unto him, wherein was written thus:
‘Unto Darius the king, all peace. {S}
E 5,8 Be it known unto the king, that we went into the province of Judah, to the house of the great God, which is builded with great stones, and timber is laid in the walls, and this work goeth on with diligence and prospereth in their hands. {S}
E 5,9 Then asked we those elders, and said unto them thus:
Who gave you a decree to build this house, and to finish this wall?
E 5,10 We asked them their names also, to announce to thee, that we might write the names of the men that were at the head of them. {S}
E 5,11 And thus they returned us answer, saying:
We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and build the house that was builded these many years ago, which a great king of Israel builded and finished.
E 5,12 But because that our fathers had provoked the God of heaven, He gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this house, and carried the people away into Babylon. {S}
E 5,13 But in the first year of Cyrus king of Babylon, Cyrus the king made a decree to build this house of God.
E 5,14 And the gold and silver vessels also of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that was in Jerusalem, and brought them into the temple of Babylon, those did Cyrus the king take out of the temple of Babylon, and they were delivered unto one whose name was Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor;
E 5,15 and he said unto him:
Take these vessels, go, put them in the temple that is in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be builded in its place. {S}
E 5,16 Then came the same Sheshbazzar, and laid the foundations of the house of God which is in Jerusalem;
and since that time even until now hath it been in building, and yet it is not completed.
E 5,17 Now therefore, if it seem good to the king, let search be made in the king’s treasure-house there, which is at Babylon, whether it be so, that a decree was made of Cyrus the king to build this house of God at Jerusalem, and let the king send his pleasure to us concerning this matter.’ {S}

1John 3:13 – Do not wonder, my brethren, if the world hate you.
1John 3:14 – We know that we have passed from death unto life, by this, that we love our brethren.
He who loveth not his brother, in death continueth.
1John 3:15 – For every one who hateth his brother is a man-killer;
and we know that in no man-killer can abide the life which is eternal.
1John 3:16 – In this we know His love toward us, that he gave himself for us;
(so) also it is right for us for the sake of our brethren to give ourselves.
1John 3:17 – And he who hath the possession of the world, and shall see his brother that he needeth, and shall shut his compassions from him, how is there in him the love of Aloha ?
1John 3:18 – My sons, let us not love one another in words and in tongue, but in works and in truth.
