Chapter 41 *Mine Enemy Doth Not Triumph Over Me*
For the Leader.
A Psalm of David.

Happy is he that considereth the poor;
The Eternal One will deliver him in the day of evil.
*Mine Enemy Doth Not Triumph Over Me*

The Eternal One preserve him, and keep him alive, let him be called happy in the land;
and deliver not Thou him unto the greed of his enemies.
*Mine Enemy Doth Not Triumph Over Me*

O Eternal One support him upon the bed of illness;
mayest Thou turn all his lying down in his sickness.
*Mine Enemy Doth Not Triumph Over Me*

I, I said:
‘O Eternal One, be favorable unto me;
heal my soul;
for I have sinned against Thee.’
*Mine Enemy Doth Not Triumph Over Me*

Mine enemies speak evil of me:
‘When shall he die, and his name perish?’
*Mine Enemy Doth Not Triumph Over Me*

And if one come to see me, he speaketh falsehood;
his heart gathereth iniquity to itself;
when he goeth abroad, he speaketh of it.
*Mine Enemy Doth Not Triumph Over Me*

All that hate me whisper together against me, against me do they devise my hurt:
*Mine Enemy Doth Not Triumph Over Me*

‘An evil thing cleaveth fast unto him;
and now that he lieth, he shall rise up no more.’
*Mine Enemy Doth Not Triumph Over Me*

י גַּם-אִישׁ שְׁלוֹמִי, אֲשֶׁר-בָּטַחְתִּי בוֹ– אוֹכֵל לַחְמִי;
Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who did eat of my bread, {N}
hath lifted up his heel against me.
*Mine Enemy Doth Not Triumph Over Me*

But Thou, O Eternal One, be gracious unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.
*Mine Enemy Doth Not Triumph Over Me*

By this I know that Thou delightest in me, that mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
*Mine Enemy Doth Not Triumph Over Me*

And as for me, Thou upholdest me because of mine integrity, and settest me before Thy face for ever.
*Mine Enemy Doth Not Triumph Over Me*

Blessed be The Eternal One the Savior of Israel, from everlasting and to everlasting.
Amen, and Amen. {P}
*Mine Enemy Doth Not Triumph Over Me*

*So Panteth My Soul After Thee O Savior*

My soul thirsteth for the Savior, for the Savior of life: {N}
‘When shall I come and appear before the Savior?’
*So Panteth My Soul After Thee O Savior*

ד הָיְתָה-לִּי דִמְעָתִי לֶחֶם, יוֹמָם וָלָיְלָה;
My tears have been my food day and night, {N}
while they say unto me all the day:
‘Where is thy Savior?’
*So Panteth My Soul After Thee O Savior*

These things I remember, and pour out my soul within me, {N}
how I passed on with the throng, and led them to the house of the Savior, {N}
with the voice of joy and praise, a multitude keeping holyday.
*So Panteth My Soul After Thee O Savior*

Why art thou cast down, O my soul?
and why moanest thou within me? {N}
Hope thou in the Savior;
for I shall yet praise Him for the yeshua of His countenance.
*So Panteth My Soul After Thee O Savior*

O Savior, my soul is cast down within me; {N}
therefore do I remember Thee from the land of Jordan, and the Hermons, from the hill Mizar.
*So Panteth My Soul After Thee O Savior*

ח תְּהוֹם-אֶל-תְּהוֹם קוֹרֵא, לְקוֹל צִנּוֹרֶיךָ;
Deep calleth unto deep at the voice of Thy cataracts; {N}
all Thy waves and Thy billows are gone over me.
*So Panteth My Soul After Thee O Savior*

By day The Eternal One will command His kindness, and in the night His song shall be with me, {N}
even a prayer unto the the Savior of my life.

I will say unto the Savior my Rock:
‘Why hast Thou forgotten me? {N}
Why go I mourning under the oppression of the enemy?’
*So Panteth My Soul After Thee O Savior*

יא בְּרֶצַח, בְּעַצְמוֹתַי– חֵרְפוּנִי צוֹרְרָי;

while they say unto me all the day:
‘Where is thy Savior?’

Why art thou cast down, O my soul?

Be Thou my judge, O Savior, and plead my cause against gatherings of the unfathful; {N}
O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.
*I Shall Yet Praise Him*

For Thou art the Savior of my strength;
why hast Thou cast me off? {N}
Why go I mourning under the oppression of the enemy?
*I Shall Yet Praise Him*

ג שְׁלַח-אוֹרְךָ וַאֲמִתְּךָ, הֵמָּה יַנְחוּנִי;
O send out Thy light and Thy truth;
let them lead me; {N}
let them bring me unto Thy holy mountain, and to Thy dwelling-places.
*I Shall Yet Praise Him*

Chapter 44 *We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*
For the Leader;
[a Psalm] of the sons of Korah.
Maschil.

O Savior, we have heard with our ears, our fathers have told us; {N}
a work Thou didst in their days, in the days of old.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

ג אַתָּה, יָדְךָ גּוֹיִם הוֹרַשְׁתָּ– וַתִּטָּעֵם;
Thou with Thy hand didst drive out the gatherings, and didst plant them in; {N}
Thou didst break the peoples, and didst spread them abroad.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

For not by their own sword did they get the land in possession, neither did their own arm save them; {N}
but Thy right hand, and Thine arm, and the light of Thy countenance, because Thou wast favourable unto them.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

Thou art my King, O Savior;
command the yeshua of Jacob.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

Through Thee do we push down our adversaries;
through Thy Works do we tread them under that rise up against us.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

For I trust not in my bow, neither can my sword save me.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

But Thou hast saved us from our adversaries, and hast put them to disappointment that hate us.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

In the Savior have we gloried all the day, and we will give thanks unto Thy Works for ever.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

[Selah]

Yet Thou hast cast off, and brought us to confusion;
and goest not forth with our armies.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

Thou makest us to turn back from the adversary;
and they that hate us spoil at their will.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

Thou hast given us like sheep to be eaten;
and hast scattered us among the gatherings.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

Thou sellest Thy people for small gain, and hast not set their prices high.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

Thou makest us a taunt to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

Thou makest us a byword among the gatherings, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

All the day is my confusion before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

For the voice of him that taunteth and blasphemeth;
by reason of the enemy and the revengeful.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

All this is come upon us;
yet have we not forgotten Thee, neither have we been false to Thy covenant.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from Thy path;
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

Though Thou hast crushed us into a place of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

If we had forgotten the Works of our Savior, and spread forth our hands to a strange idol;
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

Would not the Savior search this out?
For He knoweth the secrets of the heart.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

Nay, but for Thy sake are we killed all the day;
we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

Awake, why sleepest Thou, O Master?
Arouse Thyself, cast not off for ever.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

Wherefore hidest Thou Thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

For our soul is bowed down to the dust;
our belly cleaveth unto the earth.
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*

Arise for our help, and redeem us for Thy kindness sake. {P}
*We Will Give Thanks Unto Thy Works For Ever*
