33,6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.
33,7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap; He layeth up the deeps in storehouses.
33,8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
33,9 For He spoke, and it was; He commanded, and it stood.
33,10 The LORD bringeth the counsel of the nations to nought; He maketh the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect.

Genesis 1,57 And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph to buy corn; because the famine was sore in all the earth. 42,1 Now Jacob saw that there was corn in Egypt, and Jacob said unto his sons: ‘Why do ye look one upon another?’ 42,2 And he said: ‘Behold, I have heard that there is corn in Egypt. Get you down thither, and buy for us from thence; that we may live, and not die.’ 42,3 And Joseph’s ten brethren went down to buy corn from Egypt. 42,4 But Benjamin, Joseph’s brother, Jacob sent not with his brethren; for he said: ‘Lest peradventure harm befall him.’ 42,5 And the sons of Israel came to buy among those that came; for the famine was in the land of Canaan. 42,6 And Joseph was the governor over the land; he it was that sold to all the people of the land. And Joseph’s brethren came, and bowed down to him with their faces to the earth. 42,7 And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange unto them, and spoke roughly with them; and he said unto them: ‘Whence come ye?’ And they said: ‘From the land of Canaan to buy food.’ 42,8 And Joseph knew his brethren, but they knew him not.42,9 And Joseph remembered the dreams which he dreamed of them, and said unto them: ‘Ye are spies; to see the nakedness of the land ye are come.’ 42,10 And they said unto him: ‘Nay, my lord, but to buy food are thy servants come. 42,11 We are all one man’s sons; we are upright men, thy servants are no spies.’ 42,12 And he said unto them: ‘Nay, but to see the nakedness of the land ye are come.’ 42,13 And they said: ‘We thy servants are twelve brethren, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan; and, behold, the youngest is this day with our father, and one is not.’ 42,14 And Joseph said unto them: ‘That is it that I spoke unto you, saying: Ye are spies. 42,15 Hereby ye shall be proved, as Pharaoh liveth, ye shall not go forth hence, except your youngest brother come hither. 42,16 Send one of you, and let him fetch your brother, and ye shall be bound, that your words may be proved, whether there be truth in you; or else, as Pharaoh liveth, surely ye are spies.’

Jeremiah 3,22 Return, ye backsliding children, I will heal your backslidings.–‘Here we are, we are come unto Thee; for Thou art the LORD our God. 3,23 Truly vain have proved the hills, the uproar on the mountains; truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel. 3,24 But the shameful thing hath devoured the labour of our fathers from our youth; their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters. 3,25 Let us lie down in our shame, and let our confusion cover us; for we have sinned against the LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day; and we have not hearkened to the voice of the LORD our God.’ {S} 4,1 If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the LORD, yea, return unto Me; and if thou wilt put away thy detestable things out of My sight, and wilt not waver; 4,2 And wilt swear: ‘As the LORD liveth’ in truth, in justice, and in righteousness; then shall the nations bless themselves by Him, and in Him shall they glory. {S} 4,3 For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and to Jerusalem: break up for you a fallow ground, and sow not among thorns. 4,4 Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem; lest My fury go forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings. 4,5 Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem, and say: ‘Blow ye the horn in the land’; cry aloud and say: ‘Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the fortified cities.’ 4,6 Set up a standard toward Zion; put yourselves under covert, stay not; for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction. 4,7 A lion is gone up from his thicket, and a destroyer of nations is set out, gone forth from his place; to make thy land desolate, that thy cities be laid waste, without inhabitant. 4,8 For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and wail; for the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned back from us. {P}

4,9 And it shall come to pass at that day, saith the LORD, that the heart of the king shall fail, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder. {S} 4,10 Then said I: ‘Ah, Lord GOD! surely Thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying: Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul.’ 4,11 At that time shall it be said of this people and of Jerusalem; a hot wind of the high hills in the wilderness toward the daughter of My people, not to fan, nor to cleanse; 4,12 A wind too strong for this shall come for Me; now will I also utter judgments against them. 4,13 Behold, he cometh up as clouds, and his chariots are as the whirlwind; his horses are swifter than eagles.–‘Woe unto us! for we are undone.’– 4,14 O Jerusalem, wash thy heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy baleful thoughts lodge within thee? 4,15 For hark! one declareth from Dan, and announceth calamity from the hills of Ephraim: 4,16 ‘Make ye mention to the nations: behold–publish concerning Jerusalem–watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah.’ 4,17 As keepers of a field are they against her round about; because she hath been rebellious against Me, saith the LORD. 4,18 Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness; yea, it is bitter, yea, it reacheth unto thy heart. {P}

4,19 My bowels, my bowels! I writhe in pain! The chambers of my heart! My heart moaneth within me! I cannot hold my peace! because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the horn, the alarm of war. 4,20Destruction followeth upon destruction, for the whole land is spoiled; suddenly are my tents spoiled, my curtains in a moment. 4,21 How long shall I see the standard, shall I hear the sound of the horn? {P}

4,22 For My people is foolish, they know Me not; they are sottish children, and they have no understanding; they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

E 9,8 And now for a little moment grace hath been shown from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in His holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage. E 9,9 For we are bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the ruins thereof, and to give us a fence in Judah and in Jerusalem. {S} E 9,10 And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? for we have forsaken Thy commandments, E 9,11 which Thou hast commanded by Thy servants the prophets, saying: The land, unto which ye go to possess it, is an unclean land through the uncleanness of the peoples of the lands, through their abominations, wherewith they have filled it from one end to another with their filthiness. E 9,12 Now therefore give not your daughters unto their sons, neither take their daughters unto your sons, nor seek their peace or their prosperity for ever; that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children for ever. E 9,13 And after all that is come upon us for our evil deeds, and for our great guilt, seeing that Thou our God hast punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and hast given us such a remnant, E 9,14 shall we again break Thy commandments, and make marriages with the peoples that do these abominations? wouldest not Thou be angry with us till Thou hadst consumed us, so that there should be no remnant, nor any to escape? {P}

E 9,15 O LORD, the God of Israel, Thou art righteous; for we are left a remnant that is escaped, as it is this day; behold, we are before Thee in our guiltiness; for none can stand before Thee because of this.’ {P}

E 10,1 Now while Ezra prayed, and made confession, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there was gathered together unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children; for the people wept very sore. {S} E 10,2 And Shecaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra: ‘We have broken faith with our God, and have married foreign women of the peoples of the land; yet now there is hope for Israel concerning this thing. E 10,3 Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of the LORD, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law. E 10,4 Arise; for the matter belongeth unto thee, and we are with thee; be of good courage, and do it.’ {P}

E 10,5 Then arose Ezra, and made the chiefs of the priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they would do according to this word. So they swore. E 10,6 Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Jehohanan the son of Eliashib; and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water; for he mourned because of the faithlessness of them of the captivity. {S} E 10,7 And they made proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem unto all the children of the captivity, that they should gather themselves together unto Jerusalem;
