In Thee, O Eternal One, have I taken refuge;
I will never be disappointed.
*My praise is continually of Thee*

Deliver me in Thy righteousness, and rescue me;
incline Thine ear unto me, and save me.
*My praise is continually of Thee*

for Thou art my rock and my fortress.
*My praise is continually of Thee*

O Savior, rescue me out of the hand of the wicked, out of the grasp of the unrighteous and ruthless man.
*My praise is continually of Thee*

For Thou art my hope;
my Savior, The Eternal One, my trust from my youth.
*My praise is continually of Thee*

Upon Thee have I stayed myself from birth;
Thou art He that took me out of my mother’s womb;
my praise is continually of Thee.
*My praise is continually of Thee*

I am as a portent unto many;
but Thou art my strong refuge.
*My praise is continually of Thee*

My mouth shall be filled with Thy praise, and with Thy glory all the day.
*My praise is continually of Thee*

Cast me not off in the time of old age;
when my strength faileth, forsake me not.
*My praise is continually of Thee*

For mine enemies speak concerning me, and they that watch for my soul take counsel together,
*My praise is continually of Thee*

Saying:
‘The Savior hath forsaken him;
pursue and take him;
for there is none to deliver.’
*My praise is continually of Thee*

O Savior, be not far from me;
O my Savior, make haste to help me.
*My praise is continually of Thee*

Let them be disappointed and consumed that are adversaries to my soul;
let them be covered with reproach and confusion that seek my hurt.

And as for me, I will hope continually, and will praise Thee yet more and more.
*My praise is continually of Thee*

My mouth shall tell of Thy righteousness, and of Thy yeshua all the day;
for I know not the numbers thereof.
*My praise is continually of Thee*

I will make mention of Thy righteousness, even of Thine only.
*My praise is continually of Thee*

O Savior, Thou hast taught me from my youth;
and until now do I declare Thy wondrous works.
*My praise is continually of Thee*

And even unto old age and hoary hairs, O Savior, forsake me not; {N}
until I have declared Thy strength unto the next generation, Thy might to every one that is to come.
*My praise is continually of Thee*

Thy righteousness also, O Savior, which reacheth unto high heaven; {N}
Thou who hast done great things, O Savior, who is like unto Thee?
*My praise is continually of Thee*

I will sing praises unto Thee with the harp, O Thou The Holy One of Israel.
*My praise is continually of Thee*

My tongue also shall tell of Thy righteousness all the day; {N}
for they are ashamed, for they are abashed, that seek my hurt. {P}
*My praise is continually of Thee*

Chapter 72 *Let all the earth be filled with His glory*

Let them that dwell in the wilderness bow before Him;
and His enemies lick the dust.

A Psalm of Asaph. {N}

From the Savior is good, to Israel, even to such as are pure in heart.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

But as for me, my feet were almost gone;
my steps had well nigh slipped.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

For I was envious at the arrogant, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

For there are no pangs at their death, and their body is sound.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

In the trouble of man they are not;
neither are they plagued like men.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

Therefore pride is as a chain about their neck;
violence covereth them as a garment.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

Their eyes stand forth from fatness;
they are gone beyond the imaginations of their heart.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

They scoff, and in wickedness utter oppression;
they speak as if there were none on high.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

They have set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

Therefore his people return hither;
and waters of fullness are drained out by them.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

And they say:
‘How doth the Savior know?
And is there knowledge in the Savior Most High?’
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

Behold, such are the wicked;
and they that are always at ease increase riches.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

Surely in vain have I cleansed my heart, and washed my hands in innocency;
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

For all the day have I been plagued, and my chastisement came every morning.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

If I had said:
‘I will speak thus’,
behold, I had been faithless to the generation of Thy sons.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

And when I pondered how I might know this, it was wearisome in mine eyes;
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

Until I entered into the holines of the Savior, and considered their end.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

Surely Thou settest them in slippery places;
Thou hurlest them down to utter ruin.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

How are they become a desolation in a moment!
They are wholly consumed by terrors.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

As a dream when one awaketh, so, O Savior, when Thou arousest Thyself, Thou wilt despise their semblance.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

For my heart was in a ferment, and I was pricked in my reins.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

But I was brutish, and ignorant;
I was as a beast before Thee.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

And I am continually with Thee;
Thou holdest my right hand.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

Thou wilt guide me with Thy counsel, and afterward receive me with glory.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

Whom have I in heaven but Thee?
And beside Thee I desire none upon earth.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

My flesh and my heart faileth;
and the Savior is the rock of my heart and my portion for ever.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

For, lo, they that go far from Thee shall perish;
Thou dost destroy all them that go astray from Thee.
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

But as for me, the nearness of the Savior is my good; {N}
In my Savior, The Eternal One I have made my refuge, that I may tell of all Thy works. {P}
*Beside Thee I desire none upon earth*

Chapter 74 *Look Upon the Covenant*
Maschil of Asaph. {N}

Why, O Savior, hast Thou cast us off for ever?
Why doth Thine anger smoke against the flock of Thy pasture?
*Look Upon the Covenant*

ב זְכֹר עֲדָתְךָ, קָנִיתָ קֶּדֶם– גָּאַלְתָּ, שֵׁבֶט נַחֲלָתֶךָ;
Remember Thy community, which Thou hast gotten of old, which Thou hast redeemed to be the tribe of Thine inheritance; {N}
and mount Zion, wherein Thou hast dwelt.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

Lift up Thy steps because of the perpetual ruins, even all the evil that the enemy hath done in the Holy One.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

Thine adversaries have roared in the midst of Thy meeting-place;
they have set up their own presence as proof.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

It seemed as when men wield upwards axes in a thicket of trees.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

And now all the carved work thereof together they strike down with hatchet and hammers.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

They have set Thy sanctuary on fire;
they have profaned the dwelling-place of Thy name even to the ground.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

They said in their heart:
‘Let us make havoc of them altogether’;
they have burned up all the meeting-places of the devotion in the land.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

We see not our signs;
there is no more any prophet;
neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

How long, O Savior, shall the adversary reproach?
Shall the enemy blaspheme Thy name for ever?
*Look Upon the Covenant*

Why withdrawest Thou Thy hand, even Thy right hand?
Draw it out of Thy bosom and consume them.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

Yet the Savior is my King of old, yeshua working in the midst of the earth.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

Thou didst break the sea in pieces by Thy strength;
Thou didst shatter the heads of the sea-monsters in the waters.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

Thou didst crush the heads of leviathan, Thou gavest him to be food to the folk inhabiting the wilderness.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

Thou didst cleave fountain and brook;
Thou driedst up ever-flowing rivers.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

Thine is the day, Thine also the night;
Thou hast established luminary and sun.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

Thou hast set all the borders of the earth;
Thou hast made summer and winter.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

Remember this, how the enemy hath reproached The Eternal One, and how a base people have blasphemed Thy name.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

O deliver not the soul of Thy turtle-dove unto the wild beast;
forget not the life of Thy poor for ever.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

Look upon the covenant;
for the dark places of the land are full of the habitations of violence.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

O let not the oppressed turn back in confusion;
let the poor and needy praise Thy name.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

Arise, O Savior, plead Thine own cause;
remember Thy reproach all the day at the hand of the base man.
*Look Upon the Covenant*

Forget not the voice of Thine adversaries, the tumult of those that rise up against Thee which ascendeth continually. {P}

Chapter 75 *Thy Name is Near Men Tell*
אַל-תַּשְׁחֵת;
For the Leader;
Al-tashheth.
A Psalm of Asaph, a Song.

We give thanks unto Thee, O Savior, we give thanks, and Thy name is near;
men tell of Thy wondrous works.
*Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

‘When I take the appointed time, I Myself will judge with equity.
*Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

When the earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved, I Myself establish the pillars of it.’
*Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

[Selah]

I say unto the arrogant:
‘Deal not arrogantly’;
and to the wicked:
‘Lift not up the horn.’
*Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

Lift not up your horn on high;
speak not insolence with a haughty neck.
*Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the wilderness, cometh lifting up.
*Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

Because the Savior is judge;
He putteth down one, and lifteth up another.
*Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

For in the hand of The Eternal One there is a cup, with foaming wine, full of mixture, and He poureth out of the same; {N}
surely the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall drain them, and drink them.
*Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

But as for me, I will declare for ever, I will sing praises to the Savior of Jacob.
*Thy Name is Near Men Tell*

All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off;
but the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up. {P}
